Women’s Mountain Biking Association of Colorado Springs

Check it out!!! The Women’s Mountain Biking Association of Colorado Springs or WMBA of COS is in full effect!!!

What a great way to start the spring season. This group of local hammers have let their powers combine to found the WMBA of COS as well as Sunna Racing. With a well thought out mission of providing a nurturing and fun environment for cyclists of all levels, this promises to be a great organizational soap box for women cycling awareness!!

The founding members include Elizabeth Turnage, Jessica Conner, Hillary Heinton, and Mary Hoyle. Keep your eyes out for these ladies not only on local trails, but also in one of the many races they plan on competing in this season. I am especially stoked to hear that Hillary and Jessica will be riding/racing in the ‘09 Single Speed World Championships and in the style that brought this group to our attention they will be drinking cold beers during the race.

Before I get to ahead of my self I want to give a shout out to the organizations that made this possible through sponsorships of Sunna Racing. Remember in these tough times it is awesome that companies are willing and able to support athletes.
