Copper Mountain Sold!

copper

My beloved mountain on the chopping block. This has been a long time in the making and I am glad to see it has come to pass…I think. Copper Mountain was sold by Intrawest ULC to Powdr Corp. a Utah based company. It has been long rumored that Intrawest has having some financial difficulties and this may be just the thing to get them back on track.

Copper Mountain is one of my favorite slopes and has always been a welcome relief from the crowds and nonsense usually associate with Colorado resorts.

In a press release Powdr Corp has stated that the 09-10 season will be business as usual but who knows after that? I sure hope it doesn’t got he way of snobbery or elitism so many of our other resorts have gone.
